ConocoPhillips Australia, as the downstream operator of Australia Pacific LNG, supports the Quoin Island Turtle Rehabilitation Centre and the work they do in rehabilitating injured sea turtles. It is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured sea turtles in Central Queensland. Each turtle that enters the centre receives a unique assessment and care program to provide the best chance of successful rehabilitation and release back to their natural environment. The center is managed and run daily by four live-in turtle careers and around 40 volunteers. It is licenced to rehabilitate up to ten marine turtles at a time. Registered under the charity organisation Australian Animal Care and Education , the centre is 100 percent locally owned and operated.
