Jan-Arne Johansen has more than 33 years of experience in Upstream oil and gas, and LNG industries
He joined the company in 1993 in Norway, supporting ConocoPhillips’ Greater Ekofisk Operations before moving overseas to work across upstream projects and operations in China, Vietnam and the U.S.
After returning to Norway, Johansen held various management roles within projects, operations and development for both operated and non-operated assets. In 2018, Johansen assumed the role of general manager, Operated Assets Europe for ConocoPhillips in Norway, responsible for the development and operations of the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea, and the Teesside oil terminal in the U.K. He was appointed president for the Australia business unit in 2024.
Johansen earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science & Technology in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics in 2013.
Johansen is a director and board member of the Australian Energy Producers and member of the Safety Leaders Group for Safety Together in Australia.
