The Sunrise and Troubadour gas and condensate fields, collectively known as the Greater Sunrise fields, are located approximately 150 kilometres south east of Timor-Leste and 450 kilometres north west of Darwin in the Northern Territory. 20.1% of the Greater Sunrise fields are situated in the Joint Development Petroleum Area, jointly administered by Timor-Leste and Australia, while 79.9% are in Australian Waters.
At present there is a conciliation process ongoing between Australia and Timor-Leste regarding sea bed boundaries. Until the process is concluded, the details and timetable for a potential development will be delayed.
Our participation in the Greater Sunrise Joint Venture will continue the mutually beneficial relationship we have established with the government and people of Timor-Leste, and the nation building support that results from development of oil and gas reserves in the Joint Petroleum Development Area.
The Sunrise Joint Venture partners are Woodside (Operator) with a 33.4% interest, ConocoPhillips (30%), Shell (26.6%) and Osaka Gas (10%).
