The Caldita-Barossa assets are within the Bonaparte Basin, located in the Timor Sea approximately 300 kilometres north-northwest of the Northern Territory. We are the operator and hold a 37.5% interest in permits NTRL5 and NTRL6, with co-venturers are SK E&S an affiliate of Korean conglomerate SK Group (37.5%) and Santos (25%).

The 2015 appraisal drilling program saw three wells drilled in the NTRL5 permit area. Results from two of the appraisal wells were in line with our expectations, with one well at the higher end of the expected range. A new 3D seismic acquisition program was completed over both permits in 2016. A further two appraisal wells, Barossa-5 and Barossa-6, have been drilled in NTRL5 in 2017. These results from these wells will better inform us of the size and quality of the field.

We are currently completing early engineering work and evaluating the latest appraisal drilling results, with the objective of developing the Barossa Project.

Barossa Project is an offshore gas and light condensate project that proposes to provide a new source of gas to the existing Darwin LNG facility, subject to suitable commercial arrangements being put in in place. This work will enable us to determine the next stage of potential development.
