Our activities in Australia and Timor-Leste are managed by business units with separate head offices: Australia West and Australia East.
ConocoPhillips established operations in Australia almost two decades ago. Australia is a country of vast natural resources and is a key player in providing a response to the increasing global demand for energy. Our activities in Australia and Timor-Leste are managed by business units with separate head offices: Australia West and Australia East. Australia West is headquartered in Perth, and manages all federal affairs and nationally leveraged shared services as well as the Bayu-Undan project, Darwin LNG, and our activities in Timor-Leste. It also manages other potential developments including The Barossa Project and Greater Poseidon.
Australia East is headquartered in Brisbane and manages state affairs in Queensland, specifically, ConocoPhillips shareholder interests in the Australia Pacific LNG project as operator of the LNG facilities on Curtis Island. With a global rise in the need and demand for energy, we are proud of our ability to contribute in producing this energy in the form of natural gas. Natural gas is a clean energy source that is playing an increasingly important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
ConocoPhillips first established an office in Timor-Leste in 2006. Now located in Bidau, Dili, the office is managed by our Country Manager, and our local team provide support to our onshore and offshore activities, training and employment programs, and our relationships with local stakeholders.
