One of the greatest gifts you can give is the gift of your time

Throughout the month of October, ConocoPhillips Australia employees completed 80 hours of volunteer work to help Childhood Cancer Support.  Volunteering their time on Friday mornings, 20 employees banded together to help with a variety of tasks including gardening, car washing and general domestic duties.

ConocoPhillips Australia will donate $1000 to Childhood Cancer Support through the Employee Volunteer Grant Program. These much-needed funds will help provide grassroots assistance to the organisation to support families in need.

The Childhood Cancer Support organisation is a not-for-profit organisation devoted to providing Brisbane based accommodation for families with children diagnosed with cancer.  The organisation was established in 1975 by dedicated parents from regional areas who identified a need for accommodation for families travelling to Brisbane for treatment. Today, the organisation, staffed by a team of six employees, is responsible for providing accommodation, hospital and airport transfers and counselling services to visiting families. In 2018, the Childhood Cancer Support organisation transported over 2,000 passengers, housed over 44 families and provided short-stay accommodation to over 650 people.

This charity relies on community volunteers to help with support services and maintenance of the properties.
