ConocoPhillips employees clock over 700 volunteer hours in 2017

Over 120 dedicated ConocoPhillips employees, family members and direct hire contractors participated in our Employee Volunteering Grants Program last year, contributing over 1,080 volunteering hours to organisations they support across WA, Queensland, the Northern Territory and Timor-Leste.

Their efforts earned their chosen not-for-profit organisations over $34,300 in donations.

During National Volunteer Week this week (21-27 May) we’re celebrating the commitment and dedication of volunteers across Australia, and we couldn’t be more proud of our employees for their contribution and community spirit.

ABU-West Vice President Operations, Drilling and Supply Chain David Boyle is one of these people. He and his team recently had the pleasure of cooking a meal for Ronald McDonald House guests in Perth and have committed to further visits this year.

David said volunteering at Ronald McDonald House had been a very rewarding experience, and one that had helped the team to better connect.

“We had a great time preparing meals for the house guests and it was very rewarding to know that we could help in some small way to make their lives easier,” David said. “In selecting RMH, many of the volunteers have close family and relatives who have long standing illnesses, so it allowed us to share some of those experiences and that has really brought us closer together.”
