ConocoPhillips Australia, together with Programmed Skilled Workforce and INPEX Australia, offer Northern Territory residents an exciting opportunity to kickstart their career in the LNG industry.

ConocoPhillips Australia, together with Programmed Skilled Workforce and INPEX Australia, are offering Northern Territory residents the opportunity to kickstart their career in the LNG industry.

The Operations Training Program creates a career pathway into the LNG industry by providing Trainees with the qualifications and skills to become an Operations Technician. The program was first introduced by ConocoPhillips Australia in 2010, with this current offering being the 7th intake.

ConocoPhillips has a proud history in delivering Operator Trainee Programs at DLNG for both male and female Territorians. Since 2010, 36 Trainees have completed the program across six intakes and now represent approximately 60% of our area operator workforce.

An exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the LNG industry, Operations Trainees will gain extensive technical knowledge on hydrocarbon processing and ancillary systems, and develop skills to operate process facilities. Upon completion, Trainees receive a nationally accredited Certificate III in Process Plant Operations.

This offering is the first collaborative Operations Training Program of its kind in the NT, and has a strong practical element, with site-based placements to take place at Darwin LNG or Ichthys LNG. The classroom-based learning and competency will predominately take place at Charles Darwin University, and be conducted collectively.

Trainees will be provided with ongoing support and mentoring throughout the program. To be successful, you need to be a permanent NT resident, with a minimum of five years history of living and working in the NT. The innovation, comradery and culture of a diverse workforce is highly valued, so applications from women, Larrakia people, and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged.
