ConocoPhillips recognizes the merits of assistance that benefits the health and wellbeing of the communities in which we operate.
ConocoPhillips has assisted in projects that endeavour to meet the health and social needs of the communities in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Timor-Leste.
Efforts are directed toward such fundamental needs as helping to provide communities with clean running water and teaching healthy hygiene.
ConocoPhillips partnered with WorldVision to construct two hydraulic water pumps in rural communities near Dili, Timor-Leste. The pumps will assist 1,650 people in the villages of Ferik-Katuas and Laulara by improving hygiene and local agriculture, which by increasing access to food improves nutrition.
ConocoPhillips also contributed to the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service’s “Smart Sparx” program. "Smart Sparx" is a highly visual, interactive and stimulating school based fire safety education program aimed at reducing the number of burn injuries suffered by children in remote communities.
Other activities include programs with the Alola Foundation, Smith Family Foundation, Clontarf Foundation, Austcare, Asthma Foundation, Palmerston Safe Communities Project and World Vision.
